TERM 2 2012 - PEOPLE AND PLACES Making art about people is fun. We’ll learn about cartooning and developing characters. We will learn about drawing faces with character and people on the go. Make a soft sculpture with a zany personality. You’ll also develop skills working with pastels, blending and shading. We’ll use photographs, mixed media, painting and drawing. |
Kids from Grade 3 to Grade 5 will love Art Discovery. Classes are relaxed and encouraging, as kids are developing their interest and skills in the visual arts. Kids will be introduced to a variety of tools, media and techniques. In an Art Discovery class the teacher acts as guide as the kids experiment and progressively learn skills and techniques. Art Discovery kids are developing confidence in their drawing and learning about organising their ideas and projects. A typical class could see us sketching, etching and making prints as we explore the properties of watercolour. Or we could mix and make 15 shades of green for a rainforest painting, then search pictures to find colours in the shadows. We could create a 3D image, and learn about presenting our work for others to appreciate. |
