Kindermusik Village Sign

Village Babies Sign
VILLAGE BABIES SIGN & SING - SATURDAY 8:15AM Term 3, 2017
Unit: Do Si Do

Our Kindermusik Village Babies with Sign class follows the same curricular as our Village Babies classes running on a Tuesday, & Thursday, however in this class we also add in an element of Baby Sign using Auslan.

What you’ll experience in class:

  • You’ll play, sign, and sing. Using everyday items in engaging small and large group activities, we’ll sing songs and practice the sign as we say the words, play with toys, and help her learn both the spoken word and the sign.
  • Expert advice. You’ll learn to spot your baby’s most “teachable moments” and the sign language teaching methods of the experts. Plus you’ll learn to recognize and respond to your child’s versions of signs.
  • Communication through sign language. When your child is chasing a bubble or asking for the ball, you’ll make the sign for it and say the word. So she has the ways to associate the word with the object: she holds the ball, she hears you say the word, and she sees you make the sign.

Enrollment includes:

  • Developmentally appropriate sign language curriculum for parents and hearing children, ages 6 months to 18 months
  • Weekly 45 minute class
  • A set of At Home Materials following the Village unit for the term, including a book you can read with your baby, a CD, posters, and an instrument to keep.

Our Village Babies classes at Flying Fox Studios run in term blocks, with a three week pause between each term. This enables families with older child/ren a break from classes over each school holiday period. Our usual pattern is to run a 9 week term, then a three week break in-between. This will continue of the course of the year (Terms 1 through to 4), with a longer break over the Christmas / New Year period.
  • Age Range: Recommended from 6 to 20 Months.
  • Class Length: 45 minutes.
  • Cost: $169
  • Term 2, 2017 Unit: Rhythm of my Day
  • Term Dates: April 24th to June 24th

From early in infancy, it is evident that your baby is aware of their environment and has the desire to communicate. Introducing signing (using Australian Sign Language, or AUSLAN) to hearing babies has the benefit of allowing you and your child to communicate before their vocal chords are developed enough to speak.

This silent communication raises self-esteem, eliminates the frustration of not being able to communicate and engages your child as an active participant in the learning environment.

We will follow the same "Do Si Do" curriculum as our other Village Babies classes as well as learning signs such as "Dance" "Friend", and "time" to add to the foundation signs helpful for every parent to know.

Kindermusik Babies Class

Maestro Educater

Flying Fox Studios has been proudly running Kindermusik in Everton Park since 2006 (and years before that based in Enoggera).

Our studio has been designed with families and young children in mind. Our facilities include a parents kitchen, lounge room, backyard play area, internal bathroom, change table, high chair, microwave, and comfortable couches to feed bub on.

We are a family with young children ourselves, and understand jugling the demands of young children can be tough sometimes! For this reason we offer a flexible make up class policy, and a friendly community minded atmosphere.

A Kindermusik class is a wonderful opportunity to spend a concentrated 45 minutes playing / singing / dancing with your baby, without the distractions of the fast paced outside world. All children and parents are welcome to come along and join us.
