Term 1 2022 COVID Update and Class Postponement Offer
Please see below our email sent to all students enrolled into our Term 1 2022 classes 24/01/22
To Flying Fox Studios Students & Families,
We wanted to send a quick email to touch base about your booking for our upcoming Term 1 program.
- All our Term 1 classes will now begin from Monday February 7th, in line with the new delayed school term dates.
- Our Term 1 classes were originally planned to start on January 31st and run for 8 weeks until March 26th. Our new dates will still allow for our full planned 8 week unit in term 1, and will finish up on April 2nd.
- If you have received a class reminder email today with our original start date, please disregard this email as we are currently manually changing over all our term dates today.
Over recent weeks we have received a number of class cancellation / postponement requests, and we wanted to update all enrolled students on our current Term 1 plan. We also wish to extend an offer to postpone your booking to Term 2, should you prefer.
- Our current plan is to delay the start of our Term 1 classes to February 7th, and then run our full 8 week program as originally scheduled.
- We have also decided to extend the offer to postpone your Term 1 booking into Term 2, provided we have received at least 7 days notice of this request before your Term 1 class is scheduled to start.
- Any student who would like to postpone their booking from Term 1 to Term 2 is requested to do so via email. This offer is available to all students who are currently enrolled in Term 1 classes, however we appreciate your understanding that any request to postpone needs to be made at least 7 days prior to your Term 1 class start date.
- If we do not receive a request to postpone a booking, then we will assume your child will be joining us in Term 1, and will purchase and prepare resources accordingly.
- We also know it's incredibly hard to predict what may happen a week down the track right now, so we are doing our best to be as flexible as possible for all our staff and our students, knowing even the best laid plans may change at a moment's notice.
I am sure everyone can appreciate the difficult road that many in our industry are walking, and the impacts of cancellations and postponements on small business sadly cannot be overstated.
As a studio we are keen to see as little disruption as possible occur, while also placing the health of all our staff, their families, and our students first.
We are looking forward to a most wonderful, creative and fun term, particularly after the longest school holidays ever!
January 2022 School Holiday Workshop - COVID Update and Plan A, Plan B and counting!

Dear Flying Fox Studios Families,
We wanted to send a quick email to touch base about your booking for our upcoming January Workshop program.
Please read all information in this email regarding our January & April school holiday workshops.
As we write today, all January workshops are still running as scheduled, with our highest level COVID safe plan in place, plus reduced capacity limits (4 square meters per student) that we have maintained since March 2020.
Over the past several days things in QLD have quite rapidly changed, including the delayed start to Term 1 for school students.
We have received a large number of workshop cancellation requests, and felt it necessary to update all enrolled students on both our current plan for our January workshop program, and also our 'Plan B' should students prefer to postpone their booking.
- Our current plan is to run our January program as originally scheduled, for any student who still wishes to attend.
- We have also decided to offer the exact same program during the first week of the April school holidays. Any student who would like to postpone their booking from January to April may request to do so via email.
- This means each workshop will run twice, once in January and once in April. All enrolled students can choose which date they feel comfortable attending. This also means we will not be releasing a new program for the April school holidays.
- If you would like to move your booking from our January program to our April program, please send our team an email as soon as possible, so we are able to prepare and plan our program for students who do wish to attend next week.
- We appreciate many students may be impacted by the sudden need to isolate at very short notice. If this occurs, please let us know before your class is scheduled to begin, preferably with at least 12 hours notice. We will then postpone your booking to our April dates.
- If we do not receive a request to postpone a booking to April, then we will assume your child will attend in January and will prepare resources accordingly.
- Should our team of staff and teachers be impacted by COVID isolation requirements ourselves, we will be in touch about postponing bookings to April for any affected workshops.
- We also appreciate it's incredibly hard to predict what may happen a week down the track right now, so we are doing our best to be as flexible as possible for all our staff and our enrolled students, knowing even the best laid plans may change at a moment's notice.

If you have sent an email over the past few days, and are yet to receive a response, we thank you for your patience. Our team are only just back in the office after our summer break, and will be working through all emails this week.

Let's hope 2022 is only up from here, after we are through this very bumpy start!
