Public Holidays - When a public holiday falls during our scheduled term dates, often all classes will still run normal. All classes running as normal on the Labor Day holiday on Monday May 4th All classes will run as normal on Royal Queensland Show Day (EKKA) in Term 3

2026 School Holiday Workshops

Make-Up Lesson Policy 2026

At Flying Fox Studios, we aim to be as flexible as possible with make-up lessons for our term-based kids programs. We understand that unexpected situations can arise, so we offer make-up classes in line with the guidelines below. Make up lessons are not available for one-off workshops or events.

How to Book a Make-Up Lesson

• Make-up classes must be booked through our office via email or by phoning the studio.

• Make-up bookings cannot be made online, as they are manually scheduled.

General Guidelines

• Your regular class will continue as scheduled, and your place is held even if you are absent.

• Missed classes are non-refundable and non-creditable for future classes or workshops.

• Make-up classes are only available in classes listed in our current published timetable.

  As our adults ArtPlay class runs only once per week, term time make up lessons are not available. An additional time slot may be offered during our studio Prep week for class members to complete projects.

• Bookings are essential for all make-up lessons.

Notification Requirements

• We do not require 24 hours' notice to be eligible for a make-up lesson, however we do appreciate notification in advance of an absence as a courtesy.

• While we appreciate advance notice, you may still book a make-up lesson even if you notify us shortly before the class begins.

• if you miss your scheduled make-up class without notice, it will be considered used and cannot be rebooked

Make-Up Class Limits and Timing

• You may book up to 3 make-up classes per child, per term in advance.

• Additional make-up classes can be booked on the day if space is available.

• Make up lessons cannot be 'banked'. Make-up lessons must be used within the same enrolled term/unit. Make-up lessons cannot be carried over across multiple terms unless under specific approved circumstances

Exception:
If your child misses the final class of term due to an unexpected illness, contact our office to arrange a Week 1 make-up in the following term.

This exception does not apply to known schedule conflicts such as holidays, events, or other planned activities.

Make-Up Class Flexibility

• Make-up classes may be attended:

  • In the same week as your missed class, or

  • In a different week within the term (e.g., attending twice in one week).

• If you attend two lessons in one week for the same age group and program, note that it will be a repeat of the same class content.

Many children do enjoy repeated content, they love having a second try of a familiar activity.

Availability and Class Capacity

• We reserve two places per class for make-up students. If the make-up allocation in a class is full, our team can help you find an alternative time or day that suits your child’s age group and program

• Even if a class is listed as full, these two spots may still be available for make-up use.

• Make-up spots can book out quickly - especially near the end of term.

Please book early if you anticipate needing a make-up in the final weeks of term.

Program Crossover and Restrictions

• Students may attend make-up lessons in any term program suitable for their age (e.g., a Kindermusik student may attend a ZoomArt or Fox Blocks class).

• Make-up classes are not available for Holiday Workshops.

Using Your Make-Up Lesson for Others

• If you’re unable to attend your make-up class, a friend or sibling may attend in your place. Please note both siblings and friends can only join classes that are suitable for their current age / grade.

Extended Absences and Credit Requests

• If your child misses 3 or more consecutive lessons due to illness or an unexpected personal circumstance, you may apply for rollover credit.

• Appropriate medical documentation may be required.

• Credits will not be granted for other reasons, including:

  • Holidays

  • Exams

  • School camps

  • Conflicting activities

On Arrival for Your Make-Up Lesson

• Please check in at our office and collect a make-up lesson slip.

• This slip must be handed to your teacher at the beginning of the class.
