Descriptions for Spring 2026 School Holiday Workshops

A Day full of Rainbows (5 to 10 years)
Rainbow lorikeets will fill our day. This artwork workshop will feature drawing and painting these wonderful birds in a variety of styles. Draw some cheeky chicks in a cartoon style, tiny painted portraits in a rainbow of acrylic colours and little watercolour lorikeets that will sit on your shoulder. A joyful celebration filled with rainbows.

Archaeology Rocks Egypt  (5 to 10 years)
Travel back in time to the ancient Valley of the Kings, where we’ll uncover the fascinating culture of ancient Egypt, recreate the incredible work of its people, and bring this remarkable civilization into the 21st century. Discover captivating tales of gods and pharaohs, explore extraordinary feats of engineering, and unravel mysteries that have remained buried beneath the sands of time. Together, we’ll step into the world of ancient Egypt and rock the world of archaeology!

Bold to Blend: Marker Art (10 to 15 years)
Markers are fantastic tools to use in developing your drawing skills and unique style. This is an art technique workshop developing advanced uses of these accessible tools. Learn to blend and layer colours with alcohol markers, adding texture and detail for clothes, fur, scales etc. Watercolour markers expand the possibilities of mixing, spraying and filling. Permanent and water soluble fine liners add more possibilities. Take home small artworks that show off your new knowledge.

Brick Flicks: Spiderverse (8 to 14 years)
Get into a tangle at the movies: Lego-style! Join us these holidays as we create your version of the spiderverse. Whether you pick a scene from the Hollywood blockbuster, or work towards creating your own version of Lego reality, you will leave armed with new skills and building techniques that can make our still creations come alive.

Bubble-Gum Boulevard (6 to 12 years)
Imagine an entire colourful candy street with shops, signs, food trucks and over-the-top sweet creations full of beautiful pastel bubblegum colours; fairy floss, watermelon, raspberry, lavender, sky blue, lime sorbet or wild rose. Inspired by Van Gough’s ‘Terrace of a Cafe at Night’ you’ll paint up your canvas artwork using colourful acrylic paints, adding detail with paint pens.

Calling All Superheros (4 to 7 years)
Alert! Alert! Dastardly Dan has pulled off his biggest heist ever and we need all available Superheroes to bring him to justice. We'll look under every rock, we'll break down walls, we'll leap tall buildings, and we'll work together to find this menace. With your super brains, super muscles, super speed, and super gadgets, Dastardly Dan doesn't stand a chance!

Cattitude: The Art of Drawing Cats (6 to 12 years)
Cats with attitude have a way of stealing the spotlight! Whether they’re funny, fierce, bored, curious, or wonderfully sly, every feline has a personality worth capturing. In this fun, hands-on drawing workshop, you’ll explore tips and techniques for bringing your favourite cats to life on the page. Learn how to capture their expressions, poses, and unique personalities - and create drawings that truly show your cat doing its thing!

Dragon Egg Hatchery (5 to 10 years)
Enter the magical world of the Dragon Egg Hatchery. This is a classic art and craft workshop full of imagination and making. You’ll set up and paint your own small Hatchery. Wonder what species of dragon will hatch from a glowing egg, or a metallic sparkly one. Classify and draw baby dragon species and complete your own dragon scientist field journals.

Engineering Challenge: F1 Racers (6 to 12 years)
Are you up for a challenge? At the top of the world of Engineering is Formula 1. Vehicle racing at it's finest. Aerodynamics, speed, power, grip, and stability. First, we will understand what it takes to design a Formula 1 car, then step into the gauntlet. If you come to this workshop, you will have to be armed with your imagination & creativity.

Escape Quest: Time Travel Trouble (8 to 12 years)
The clock is ticking... The timeline is in trouble... Can your team work together, think creatively and beat the clock? Travel between the past and the future as you crack codes, uncover clues, tackle challenges and unlock mysterious boxes. Each discovery will reveal another piece of the timeline, but you’ll need to work together to figure out what belongs where and when! Your mission: solve the puzzle of time before the timeline changes forever!

Fairytale Fix-It (4 to 7 years)
Once upon a workshop, in a land not-so-far away, something went terribly fairy-tale wrong! Young inventors will become magical fix-it experts, using creativity, building skills and problem-solving to help some of their favourite fairy-tale characters. From busted bridges to wonky castles and everything in between, there are plenty of happily-ever-afters waiting to be engineered! Grab your tools, put on your thinking cap and get ready to build a little magic. After all, every good story needs a happy ending!

Flipping Forces (6 to 12 years)
Get ready to flip, spin, experiment, and turn science on its head! In this hands-on workshop, curious minds will explore fascinating questions, make predictions, test ideas, and discover what happens when we put our theories to the test. We’ll investigate, experiment, and analyse our results while uncovering the science behind forces, energy and motion. Because when you’re curious, playing can become serious science!

Flower Fairies Garden Fair (4 to 7 years)
Welcome to our Garden Fair. It sells the most amazing things for our tiny friends. Daisy, Florian, Iris and their friends are setting up their market stalls. Flowers, play food, jewellery, tiny clothes and more. This is a classic art and craft based workshop making things for our stalls. Come along, make and shop at our Spring Fair!

Geology Rocks: Minecraft Minerals (6 to 12 years)
If you have rocks on your mind, then look no further! If you choose to dive into this newly-spawned workshop, you will discover why Minecraft has chosen the pallet of blocks they offer! We'll search for the similarities between the game world and real world, talk of terrain, break-down biomes, and create some curious creations. What are you waiting for? Set your spawn-point and away we go!

Home Tweet Home (4 to 7 years)
The birds in the city are without a place to call home. We'll come to their rescue. Discover the fascinating birds that share our urban spaces and learn about what they need to thrive. Find out where they like to nest, what they eat, and how we can create welcoming spaces for them. Then get creative! Paint your very own birdhouse and make a water station to take home and give your backyard birds a helping hand. Come along, get crafty, and become a friend to our feathered city neighbours!

Lego Universe: Deep Space (5 to 10 years)
Launch your imagination into orbit in this out-of-this-world LEGO adventure and discover how real missions travel through the Solar System! From Voyager to Juno, find out where they travelled and how they navigated, using stellar space science, to reach their destinations. With building, space science and creativity combined, this workshop is perfect for curious kids who love LEGO and want to explore the wonders of our Universe. Get ready to build, discover and launch your imagination into deep space!

*Mad Science Goes Pop (5 to 10 years)
Did you hear that? Dr Parsec Supernova is up to his old tricks again! This time he is experimenting with things that go pop! Balloons, pop-corn, science experiments, and so much more! With Dr Supernova, you never know what to expect... Only this time, if you blink you might miss it.

Mouse Hunt: Tricky Traps (4 to 7 years)
There's a mouse in the house and he's eating all the food. Join us on the hunt as we play games, solve problems and invent some crazy mouse trap mechanisms. We'll put our engineering skills to the test as we consult our blueprints and build our own Rube Goldberg style mouse trap to save the food!

Neon Nature: Canvas Art (6 to 12 years)
The phenomenon of bioluminescence in the natural world is amazing. In this art workshop you will enter the fascinating world of creatures that glow as we are inspired by insects, coral reefs, mushrooms and glowing plants. Create an acrylic painting that will glow under UV light, and still look fantastic in daylight.

Paint Like a Pirate (4 to 7 years)
Come with me mateys, it’s time to paint! Arrrrr. Join us for some pirate fun as we paint treasure maps, stormy seas and pirate portraits. Paint eye patches and hand hooks. There will be a treasure chest to paint and fill with shiny loot to take home.

Paint Pen Art: Anime (8 to 14 years)
For fans of Anime art. This workshop will take you through the process and techniques for using paint pens on fabric. Choose your favourite character and draw up your design on paper. Learn how to transfer it onto a canvas bag. We’ll show you some additional ways to use your new knowledge to add Anime style to your clothing.

Painted Parrots Acrylic Canvas (10 to 15 years)
Parrots of all kinds will take centre stage in this colourful painted canvas workshop! Learn how to choose and mix colours to capture the vibrant beauty and personality of your favourite bird. Using acrylic paints and creative mediums, we’ll explore ways to build texture and bring your parrot to life. Add fine line details with paint pens to complete your masterpiece. Take home an amazing painted canvas portrait of your favourite parrot!

Paper Plane Master (6 to 12 years)
Whether you are a master paper plane builder, or just starting out, this workshop will take you to new heights. We'll investigate the aerodynamics and history of flight and apply it to our paper plane designs. We'll tinker with the classic design and play around with some advanced theories. There will be plenty of testing and a competition to finish it all off. Will you soar above the pack?
